DAWN M. DAILEY, CPA

CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT & QUICKBOOKS PROADVISOR

About dawn

It isn't easy to find an accounting professional that takes the time to look out for the little guy. Dawn M. Dailey, CPA, has made her practice to focus on the little guys, attempting to make their business administration effortless, so they can take the time to focus on their small business, doing the things they excel at doing to generate income. Her goal is to understand the facets of every small business and get to know the business owners so that she can better assist and guide the owners to make impactful good business decisions.

Dawn understands the challenges of being a small business owner. Not only is she one herself, but with over two decades of experience in the accounting field and working with over 200 clients during that time, it has given her much insight into many industries. These industries include professional services, restaurants, construction, store retail, online retail, real estate management, and various other industries. Dawn has worn many hats with her clients as a tax preparer, an offsite Financial Officer, a bookkeeper, a business consultant, and a forensic accountant.

The creative side of Dawn's personality originally had her pursuing a career in graphic design, but soon after graduation, she found herself in a bookkeeping job at a Property Management Company. That led to a position in the accounting department of a mid-size local utility provider, which came upon hard times and was forced into bankruptcy. The process of bankruptcy proceedings had Dawn working with various accountants, consultants, and legal advisors, which gave her the opportunity to learn from these individuals, which opened her eyes to a new career possibility. One of the consultants she had worked with during the bankruptcy hired her for another project to serve as an office manager for a manufacturing company. She then moved on to working with two public accounting firms and working towards her Bachelors in Business Administration from Cleveland State University and obtained her CPA certification soon after that.

Although Dawn loves solving the accounting and tax puzzles, she does not like to spend all her time doing so. If there is a way to make tasks more efficient, she will find a way to do it. She sees every day as an opportunity to learn something new and is happy to share any advances in technology with clients to make their tasks simpler. Her experience as a bookkeeper using QuickBooks software gives her the ability to assist clients with their QuickBooks questions quickly. She annually recertifies her QuickBooks Proadvisor status by being up to date on advances in the program, both online and on desktop versions.

In Dawn's spare time, she enjoys engaging in "forced family fun" with her two teenagers, volunteering, or going on adventures. She also serves on the City of Sheffield Lake's Board of Directors for Parks and Recreation, as well as on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Lorain County. During tax season, she volunteers as a Tax Preparer for United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. You may also find her at Leadership Lorain County's events networking with the other alumni.

Dawn is a wonderful, knowledgeable accountant!

“Dawn is always fun to work with and is non-judgmental of any accounting deficiencies of mine. Willing to spend whatever time is necessary to answer my questions or explain what needs to be done. I appreciated her every day, knowing she was available to help at a moment’s notice.”
